# What is the difference between one piece wheels and two piece wheels?
## One piece wheels are a single cast or forged piece and more affordable, while two piece wheels have a separate center and rim, allowing for more aggressive sizes and custom designs.
When shopping for aftermarket wheels, it helps to know the difference between **one piece** and **two piece wheels**.
**One Piece Wheels**
Most wheels you see are one piece wheels. These wheels are **cast or forged as a single piece**, which makes them strong and stiff. One piece wheels are also **more affordable** than two piece wheels, making them a popular choice for everyday use.
**Two Piece Wheels**
Two piece wheels are made from **two separate components**: the center portion and the outer rim. These two pieces are bolted together to create a wheel that can handle more aggressive sizes and designs. Two piece wheels often feature **more intricate designs** and allow for customization that one piece wheels cannot offer.
Choosing between one piece and two piece wheels comes down to **budget, style, and performance needs**. One piece wheels are perfect for standard applications, while two piece wheels are ideal if you want a larger, more customized setup or unique look.
