How do I measure my current wheel diameter?
You can find your wheel diameter by checking the tire sidewall, looking for the stamped wheel size, or measuring bead seat to bead seat.
Measuring your wheel diameter is simple, and there are a few easy ways to find the correct size.
Check the Tire Sidewall
The quickest way is to look at the sidewall of your current tire. The last number in the tire size tells you the wheel diameter.
For example, if your tire reads 265/70R17, the “17” means your wheel has a 17 inch diameter.
Check the Back of the Wheel
If the tire is not mounted, look at the backside of the wheel spokes. Most wheels have the size stamped on them.
You might see something like 17x9. In this case, 17 is the diameter and 9 is the width.
Measure It Manually
If you need to measure the wheel yourself, make sure the truck is parked on a flat surface. Measure from bead seat to bead seat, which is where the tire sits against the wheel. Do not measure from the outer edge, as that will give you an inaccurate number.
For the most accurate results, rely on the tire sidewall or the manufacturer stamped size whenever possible. If you have questions about fitment, Contact Us and we'll be happy to help.
